POWERMAD Pulls Out Of HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR; FATES WARNING, MORE Added

February 12, 2011

POWERMAD has canceled its appearance at this year's edition of the Headbangers Open Air festival, set to take place July 28-30, 2011 in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany.

Commented the band: "We have been working on our next full-length record for some time, and though we've dedicated all of our energy and emotion into providing you our fans (old and new) with the best possible collection of new material possible, scheduling and other commitments have forced us away from this endeavour for longer than expected. Our front man, Joel DuBay, has been battling some health issues that are finally being addressed, and he expects to be in better condition than in previous years once healed. Details of these issues have not yet been disclosed, and may never be — however, he is in very good spirits and looking forward to a complete and total recovery. In his words: 'I cannot wait to get back to my churlish, mean, hateful self, and to making more music with Jeff [Litke, bass] and Todd [Haug, guitar] as things progress.'

"POWERMAD have re-committed to playing the 2012 Headbangers Open Air festival that will feature new material that will likely be released before the event.

"We'd like to thank each and everyone of you for keeping our music alive and the energy of our genre alive and killing."
